Rayat Shikshan Sanstha's founder padma bhushan Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil (Anna) has desire to create ideal teacher's for society. Hence, Vitthalrao Deshmukh (Mahulkar Dada) & his younger brother Mr. Dattajirao Deshmukh helped Rayat Shiskhan Sanstha for establishing teacher education institute in the rural area of the then united Satara & Sangli district. In the year 1962 Vitthalrao Deshmukh Adhyapak Vidhyalaya was established.

The teacher's college has a separate & well equipped science laboratory and library. Under the guidance of the various circles or Board students teacher's are conducting various activities which are related to the proper subject.

The college has a total 75 acres of agriculture land of which there is flourishing project on 20 acres & 52 acres of land has been implemented for social forestry and college infrastructure.

According to the 21st century, Teacher training college adapt's to new educational trends and changes, also tries well to instrict the teacher trainees with modern technology for their allround development. Different quality programs are implemented as per the trainee's ability to realise and develop their latent qualities.
